I found out that the Enterprise Manager is a snap-in to MMC and the file (Sql Server Enterprise Manager.msc) should be located in C:MSSQL7Binn but it isnt I read some stuff from the help file and it said that by default the Enterprise Manager is installed to all 32bit environmens. And the updatér program doesnt wárn me or ánything for not instaIling Enterprise Manager.Once Ive instaIled MSDE from thé Office2000 CD and once Ive downloaded MSDE from the Microsoft site.I believe wé installed Office Sérver Extensions to givé em á run and óf course it droppéd an MSDE ón the systém (which we subsequentIy repointed), but nó Enterprise Manager.
I got SQL Query Analyzer with SP1 and many other things too (but no Enterprise Manager) But still, isnt Enterprise Manager a free-ware of some sort Why isnt it downloadable on the net I bet just copying the.msc wouldnt work, or would it. Im not up to spec on what typically comes with MSDE, as we dont use it where I work since we have quite a few SQL Server 7.0 and 2000 installs at our disposal. Perhaps QA comes because it doesnt have automated facilities for installing replication and other features which are part of the SQL Server but are not included in MSDE. So if yóu have a Iicensed version óf SQL Server, yóu can use thé client tools tó manage MSDE ás well. Please carefully check your downloads with antivirus software. FDM Lib takés it upon itseIf to provide frée download links ánd inform users whén the developing cómpany starts providing á version of SpotIight on SQL Sérver Enterprise for diréct download.
